In the year 2000 the City of Willmar and Willmar Public Schools partnered and created Willmar Community Education and Recreation. Willmar Community Education and Recreation oversee the various city and school owned parks, and facilities, as well as the programs that are offered within these spaces.In 2011 over 300,000 people participated in an event or program offered though Willmar Community Education and Recreation.
